Sam Sharpe Lecture 2023 - From Sam Sharpe to Black Lives Matter: The Continued Struggle for Black Agency and Self-Determination

Professor Anthony Reddie, Professor of Black Theology, University of Oxford and Director of the Centre for Religion and Culture at Regent's Park College presented his lecture title 'From Sam Sharpe to Black Lives Matter: The Continued Struggle for Black Agency and Self-Determination'.

The lecture took place on Wednesday 18 October at the Gilbert Scott Lecture Theatre, Whitelands College, University of Roehampton, London and this is the recording. Wale Hudson-Roberts, Baptists Together Justice Enabler introduces Anthony and the lecture.

The Sam Sharpe lectures seek to broaden and advance the legacy of Sam Sharpe by exploring subjects in mission, race, class, and injustice. They have become an important fixture in the calendar of community events marking Black History Month.
